Five waterfalls, cloud forest and rainforest, safe hiking trails, aviaries with numerous species, toucan feeding demonstration time, insect display, butterfly observatory, capuchin monkeys (white face), black hand spider monkeys, garden Hummingbirds with 26 documented hummingbird feeding demonstration time in the mornings and afternoons, serpentarium (snake show), jaguars, pumas, ocelots, margays, house tica with zoo and bullock cart, ranarium (display of frogs), orchid display, heliconia display. All this offered in one place, makes us the best ecological park in Costa Rica. The park comprises 70 acres (28 hectares) of land, including approximately 40 acres of clouds and tropical forests and 30 acres (12 hectares) of pastures cut by a previous owner. The forest area is currently protected under the status of Private Animal Sanctuary and we are in the process of reforesting the unoccupied grassland. We are also active members of the Costa Rican Network of Private Natural Reserves, the Green Stamp Program, the Blue Flag Program and the Environmental Services Payment Program.
The 2.2 miles (3.5 kilometers) of hiking trails and observation platforms built since 1998-2000 were designed and built without cutting a tree or life system. The materials for the trails and platforms were carried on foot to avoid the use of heavy machinery in the forest. The merit of this tremendous achievement was granted to Mr. Bernardo Picado, who designed Pathways for the National Park System of Costa Rica before joining our team.
We added the Restaurant Colibríes y el Serpentario in 2004 and the Ranarium and the Trout Lake in 2005. Our new closed.
The Butterfly Observatory opened its doors in August 2006 along with the conversion of our existing Butterfly Observatory to an Aviary in the same year.
The visit will be all day, we will have lunch in the cascade of peace and at the end of the afternoon we will go to San José.
It should be noted that this trekking is done in the humid tropical forest sector and consists of steps in some parts of the route, this path is paved.
